OOPS!

Hi My Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

It has been a while.  Sorry, My bad!  So, what is new with you?  Things are going gangbusters here.  Not sure what that means, but things are going very nicely here.  We have a couple of new ministries.  We started our monthly free community dinner on the last Friday of every month from 6 to 7pm.  Eat in or get it to go.  Main course, dessert, beverage included.  And then we have our Sizzling Saturday Worship Cafe.  That is on Saturdays at 5:30 for a buffet of hot dogs and hamburgers, desserts and beverages that can be eaten while sitting at card tables.  You can watch the worship service from there at 6pm or sit in one of the chairs that are closer to the worship band.  So far so good.  Praise the Lord.  We are expanding our visitation team and our safe sanctuary team has developed a set of rules for working with youth and vulnerable adults that should keep them safe in the church. During the summer we have 1 Sunday School class for everyone which usually means the young ones in June, July, and August.  We teach a lesson, do a craft, and give them a snack.  Then in September Sunday School for all ages starts back up.

There are a lot of other ministries that we do such as: United Methodist Women, Quilters, Knitters (prayer shawls), work groups, United Methodist Men, Mission Trip, Camping, Scouting, NA, Food Bank, Give away twice a year, Bible Study, Book studies, Scrapbooking, just to name a few and we are always looking for new ways to take the Gospel outside of the walls of the church.  We love to help people.  Our motto is Irwin First United Methodist Church is where "strangers become friends and friends become family".   Please pray for us and support our ministries so that together we can help people who are in need.

God loves you and so do I,

Pastor Bruce
