Summertime, summertime!

Hi,

Vacation was wonderful.  Caught a lot of fish.  All kinds of fish in the Gulf at St. Petersburg, Florida and we caught a lot fo them every day.  So much fun!  I couldn't help but marvel at God's Creation.   Praise the Lord!

I was just reading Mark 6:30-34 and it seems that Jesus and His disciples couldn't catch a break from doing ministry.  Verse 31 says they didn't even have time to eat.  Sometimes ministry can be that way.  You can be so busy that you dont even have time to eat.  I have eaten many a meal while standing up or running out to the car. Many a family gathering had to be missed or postponed or I had to leave in the middle of it because of a meeting or emergency.  My wife can get a little upset over it sometimes and I don't blame her, not one little bit.  It is not about the money nor is it about being a job.  It is about being an ambassador for Jesus, someone who represents Him and wants the world to kow, love, and obey Jesus.  Yes, no doubt it is tough at times and will require sacrifices on our part to do the ministry right.  Doesn't Jesus, our Lord and Savior, deserve our very best?  Aren't there a lot of people who don't know Jesus as their Lord and Savior?  And aren't there a lot of people who think they know Jesus but do not have a personal relationship with Him?  You bet there are.  Lots of people like these and many more so they need our help before it is too late.

The time to rest is when the work is done and that work won't be done until the Lord Jesus Christ returns.  This world is not our home, but it is our workplace and God has called us to be people who work their fingers to the bone for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and for their salvation for salvation is found in no one else other than Jesus Christ for there is no other name is given under Heaven by which we must be saved.  Yep, I feel like I need a break and I want to be selfish for a little while, but time is growing short.  No one knows when the Day of the Lord is going to take place, but if you look around you things seems to be heading for a climax of some sort.  At any rate people are dying in a variety of ways every day and they need to hear about Jesus before they do.  So lets get busy and turn the world upside down for Jesus.  That's right, color outside of the lines.  Be a rebel for Christ.

God loves you and so do I,

Pastor Bruce
