Tough Times

My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

How you doing?  I am doing fine, I guess, all things considered.  Okay, I am feeling a little frustrated and the blog today is my way of clearing my mind by venting.  So I am sorry in advance.  Our economy is in bad shape.  The dollar doesn't go very far these days and the price of gas is a real thorn in my side.  My truck only gets 10 miles per gallon.  I know, I know, no body's fault but my own, sort of.  I love my truck but I don't drive as much now and quite often I use my wifes car (35 miles per gallon).  The cost of food, doctor's appointments, prescriptions, dog food, candy (chocolate is essential), entertainment, and everything else has gone up, up, up.  Grrrr, and those politicians make me so ..... deep breath, Jesus, praise the name of Jesus, my Lord and Savior.  Philippians 4:8, "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things."

Okay,I am not happy with the current state of affairs in the world today because it is cutting into my comfort zone, but the real question I have to ask myself is, "do I want to be a part of the problem or part of the solution?"  The Bible tells me to have a positive attitude, to see the glass half FULL, and to give thanks in ALL circumstances.  It always helps me to remember that this world is not my home and that the Promised Land awaits me and all who believe in Jesus Christ.  The situations we find ourselves in today can depress us and make us anxious.  The choice is ours, it really is.  No, seriously, we can be a force for change and we can rejoice that God loves us, that Jesus saved us, and that one day we will go to heaven, no matter what we are going through.    Thanks for 'listening'.  God bless you and yours.
