TRUSTEE COMMITTEE – Tom Lehner, Chairman
 
According to the UM Discipline: You will supervise and maintain all property belonging to the congregation so that the ministries of the congregation can be effective.  You will work closely with the church to respond to God’s call.
 
Responsibilities:
  1. To oversee, maintain, and supervise all local church property.
  2. To report annually to the charge conference on the state of the church’s property, equipment, investments, and resources.
  3. To receive and administer all gifts made to the congregation.
  4. To make certain that all trust funds of the congregation are invested properly.
  5. To ensure that the Articles of Incorporation of the congregation are kept up-to-date.
  6. To be responsible, in conjunction with the pastor, for all use of the church buildings and grounds.
  7. To maintain adequate insurance coverage on all church property and to develop appropriate risk-management policies.
  8. To submit to the Committee on Finance annual budget requests for insurance, property maintenance and improvement, and new property purchases.
  9. To be accountable to the Charge Conference and to the Church Council (Administrative Council or Administrative Board).
USE OF THE BUILDING TIPS: Here are just a few reminders to follow to keep our church building safe and beautiful for everyone:
  1. Everyone enjoys snacks and beverages. However, accidents do happen. So, if you have a spill please contact the custodian as soon as possible so it can be cleaned up.  Spills can be a slip hazard in uncarpeted areas and on the carpeting, the longer a spill stays in the carpet the harder it is to remove the stain.
  2. The Trustee Committee have asked that no tape, stick-um, glue, etc. are to be used on the walls, doors, and woodwork throughout the building.  These items tend to pull the paint and varnish off the surfaces and mar the beautiful finishes.
  3. No skates of any kind are permitted on the gym floor.
  4. If you are the last one out of the building, please make sure no water is running in the kitchens or bathrooms, the lights are all turned off, and the doors are all locked.
  5. Please report problems immediately to the custodian or one of the Trustees.
